It
is a rare thing to possess such a love of life that one's vibrant
energy is contagious, that their creativity and enthusiasm radiates
from the inside. Aimee Stamm-Kubler was one of these uncommon,
exceptional people. At her core Aimee was a soul mate to her
husband Toby, a loving daughter, devoted sister, best friend, gifted
artist, and a lover of nature who protected and cared for all living
things. On a beautiful spring afternoon, Aimee set out for
a run in the country. That day, April 18, 2001, Aimee's beauty
and life were stolen from her by a drunk driver. While Aimee's
loved ones experienced a great loss, they also believed that no
other person or family should have to suffer as they did.
They united with other concerned individuals to form KEYS, a campaign
aimed at increasing better key decision making to reduce impaired
driving injuries and deaths.
On
a cold November day in Wisconsin, a person would appear crazy wearing
flip-flop sandals, a Hawaiian-print shirt, and shorts -that is unless
this person was Jim Beyer. Jim's unique, creative spirit was
evident through everything he did from the clothes he wore to the
way he balanced his inspired career at Famous Footwear with his
deep love for his family. Jim not only adored being a dad
to his two young children Samantha and Tate, but he also enjoyed
being an athlete. However, while out on a routine jog on October
18, 2003, he was struck by a vehicle whose driver was impaired by
drugs. While those who knew and loved Jim were profoundly
saddened by his death, they knew his creative sparkle and spirit
needed to live on. They united with other concerned individuals
to form KEYS, a campaign aimed at increasing better key decision
making to reduce impaired driving injuries and deaths.
